The Detroit Lions have been the NFL’s best team at playing the underdog this season; another instance of this was when Jared Goff got into a funny conversation with a reporter.
A reporter questioned Goff at his Wednesday media availability if the Lions find inspiration in the fact that their players don’t receive the same level of attention as those of the San Francisco 49ers.
At first, Goff praised the reporter for stating that the guys on the Lions are good. After that, he sarcastically responded, “never mind,” when the reporter brought up how much better Detroit’s next opponent is thought to be.
After a while, Goff stopped berating the reporter and said the Lions have “a tonne of great players that maybe haven’t had the national stage, up to this point, that a lot of other guys have.”
With a 7-point advantage heading into the NFC Championship Game, the Lions should have no trouble carrying their grudge for at least another week.
