James Anderson Officially Retires From International Cricket Due To…..

England legend James Anderson announces retirement from Test cricket | Cricket Times

Making his England debut in 2002, James Anderson announced on Sunday, May 12, that he would be officially retiring from international cricket after nearly 22 years of service. Anderson stated that his final Test match would be the first against the West Indies on July 10 at Lord’s.

With an incredible 700 Test wickets under his belt and 187 matches played during a remarkable career, the veteran bowler is set to play his final game. He now has the third-highest record for Test wickets taken and will be aiming to surpass the legendary Shane Warne, who amassed 708 wickets in Test cricket.

Anderson’s farewell match against the West Indies is anticipated to feature Kemar Roach, who praised the Englishman as “one of the greatest” pacers in cricket history.

“He’s a great fast bowler, probably one of the greatest,” Roach said at the County Championship for Surrey, which is presently being played at the Kia Oval.

Though we all know you can’t play forever, it’s heartbreaking to see him depart. He’s done a great job for England, so he deserves every success.

Roach joked, “First Test match against us… hopefully, we ruin it.” He is well-respected. He’s also consistently provided me wise counsel. He’ll be remembered as one of the best of all time. After that Test match, I hope he enjoys whatever comes next and wish him all the best.”

The forthcoming series will be more poignant because of Anderson’s retirement, but Roach is steadfast in his desire to see the Windies win the series—they haven’t won in England since 1988.

With Shamar Joseph, Alzarri Joseph, Jayden Seales, and himself making up a potent pace battery, Roach is unwavering in his belief that the club can end this run.

“It’s a very highly talented and skilful group,” Roach stated. “Since we’ve not had the best of times in England, it’s more important to concentrate on us than on what they will do for Anderson.
