All About Steph Curry's Parents, Dell and Sonya Curry

Stephen Curry, the great point guard for the Golden State Warriors, learned how to shoot from his father, Dell Curry. But the two-time MVP’s general athleticism is also owed to his mother, Sonya Curry.
The 30th of May 1966 saw the birth of Sonya Adams Curry. She was a standout basketball and volleyball player who won state championships at Radford High School in Radford, Virginia.

Sonya then decided to play volleyball for Virginia Tech. She met Dell, the star player on the basketball team, there, who would become her husband. In addition to being Caucasian and African-American Creole, Sonya’s parents are Haitians.

In 1988, Dell and Sonya Curry tied the knot. Soon after getting married and relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina, they welcomed their first child, Stephen Curry. In 1990, Sonya and Dell welcomed their second child, Seth, and in 1994, they welcomed their only daughter, Sydel, their third child.

The Charlotte, North Carolina, Montessori School is both owned and run by Sonya. Founded in 1995 with Dell, the school is led by her as its president. Stephen Curry, Seth Curry, and Sydel Curry attended the aforementioned school.
