Ipswich Town: The 12 players out of contract in 2024

Manager Kieran McKenna of Ipswich Town, who recently inked a four-year contract extension at Portman Road, was interviewed on the spot. After leading the Suffolk club into the top division, McKenna, 38, led Ipswich to their second straight promotion this season. Following his achievement, he was linked to Brighton, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

The 20-year-old won the club’s Young Player of the Year title and played a crucial role in the Blues’ Championship promotion campaign.

Town has reportedly “accelerated” their interest in bringing Hutchinson back to Portman Road through a deal that might ultimately cost £20 million, but a large portion of that will probably come from milestone clauses and other top-ups, according to The Guardian.

Bundesliga Stuttgart, who will play in the Champions League the next season, is anticipated to put up a fight for Hutchinson’s signature, but several other elite European teams were impressed with the Jamaican international’s play while at Portman Road.
It is unclear if Chelsea will be willing to sell given that new boss Enzo Maresca will be evaluating the Stamford Bridge team.

Hutchinson’s contract with the West Londoners was extended until the summer of 2026 earlier this week. He was also included in the Jamaican team for their CONCACAF World Cup qualifying match the following month.

Jeremy Sarmiento, another former Town loanee, was observed playing football at Goals in Ipswich on Monday night. He was just announced as part of Ecuador’s team for their CONCACAF World Cup qualifying match.
