Throughout the 2023 season, the Detroit Lions’ offensive line has had numerous injuries.
Most recently, a wrist ailment has kept offensive guard Jonah Jackson out of the last two games. Jackson has missed all but one game since Week 6. In Week 12, the Lions faced a 29-22 loss to Green Bay and felt his absence. They gave up three sacks.
Jackson was fully active on Thursday and might make a comeback in Week 13 against New Orleans. Frank Ragnow, on the other hand, skipped practice on Thursday.
Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator, is anticipating a strong performance from the offensive line, helped by Jackson’s possible return.
“I’m sure our lads will react brilliantly. It was definitely not the best offensive game we’ve played in the past 18 months; in fact, it was maybe the worst. They are aware of it, Johnson added. “I believe it manifested itself more in pivotal moments. Jared is getting hammered on some of those fourth downs and some of those third downs. We obviously don’t desire any of that.
We are going to rectify that right away. I have to give Green Bay a lot of credit. They had a fantastic plan for a short week, and they played with such energy that we were never able to settle down and get going. They deserve credit for that, and we had a tremendous opportunity to learn from it. Every week, we must perform at our highest level.”
