HUGE NEWS: Tennessee have Identify “Jordan Phillips” as top priority for….

Tyler Baron, a defensive end, had numerous premium suitors when he first accessed the transfer site on December 8. He made the swift decision to move to Oxford, Mississippi, to play for the Ole Miss Rebels alongside his old teammate Tamarion McDonald. But a few weeks later, Mcdonald renounced his vow and switched his allegiance to the Louisville Cardinals, and now Baron has made the same decision.

Baron had 28 tackles, six sacks, and a fumble recovery in 2023, which made him a huge bright spot for the Vols. After James Pearce Jr., he was their second-best pass rusher and provided them with significant momentum at a number of pivotal moments.

The Tennessee football team is currently in its offseason. After finishing the season, the Vols are concentrating on building their roster for 2023. With all of the most recent NFL Draft announcements and portal entries, Volunteer Country has the fans covered. The portal window is open from January 2 to December 4. Players will have to wait until May after spring practice to access the transfer portal if they do not transfer within that time.

George MacIntyre, the quarterback for Brentwood Academy, is currently debating between Alabama and Tennessee for college, and despite the Crimson Tide’s recent coaching change, they aren’t given up on the gifted passer. After famous coach Nick Saban, with whom MacIntyre had been close, just departed, new head coach Kalen DeBoer extended an opportunity to MacIntyre.

Josh Newberg of On3 had projected that MacIntyre would sign with Tennessee after Saban’s statement. His recruiting grade point average has also shifted dramatically; as of Tuesday, Tennessee had less than a 10% probability of signing the five-star, but that number has now increased to a 75.1% chance of doing so.Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports also projected that the multi-sport player would sign with Tennessee.

The Volunteers made an offer to the gifted quarterback in 2022. In his early career, he has also visited Tennessee nearly ten times. He is a very talented quarterback that rates highly in the 2025 class; according to 247Sports, he is ranked second among all quarterbacks and ninth in the country. The Volunteers’ recruiting class of 2025 has limitless possibilities if they can secure MacIntyre.

OXFORD, Miss. Tyler Baron, a former edge rusher for the Tennessee Volunteers, stated on social media on Tuesday that he has formally switched his commitment to the Louisville Cardinals, making him another transfer portal commit to the Ole Miss Rebels. You can watch Baron’s announcement here. Baron will be joining safety/linebacker Tamarion McDonald, a former teammate, in Louisville. On Monday, McDonald, a hybrid defender, was traded from Ole Miss to the Cardinals. Exactly one month has passed since Baron’s Ole Miss commitment.

In his four years of collegiate play, he has accumulated 102 tackles and 13.5 sacks. Baron, who was raised in Knoxville and attended Knoxville Catholic for his prep school education, is reportedly still looking for a place to call home in 2024. The former four-star prospect was ranked as the eighth edge in the country and the fourth player out of Tennessee in the 2020 class, per On3’s recruiting database. Baron left Ole Miss before he ever had a chance to suit up, so the Rebels will probably have to go elsewhere for a defensive end/edge rusher.
