Distracted Adam Reynolds, the halfback for Brisbane, has given a new update on his injury status against the Broncos as well as the shocking decision to not start Tristan Sailor in the halves. The seasoned No. 7 has also discussed the criticism directed at Reece Walsh, who faced wrath from NRL supporters for being perceived as ‘selfish’ and attempting to take on too much of a role in Reynolds’ absence during the Roosters’ 40-18 thrashing last week.
After he suffered a bicep tear during the crushing loss to the Roosters, the Broncos will be without their inspiring captain, Reynolds, for the remainder of the season. The cunning halfback is anticipated to miss 12–14 weeks of action, but he stated on Brisbane’s Triple M Breakfast with Marto, Margaux, and Dan on Friday that he hopes to receive the go-ahead from doctors to resume light training as soon as possible.
Reynolds stated, “On Tuesday, I’ll visit the surgeon and, of course, get the go-ahead to resume some light training.” “I still have a part to play there (at training); there are some young halves that need some support and direction, and I obviously have to assist Kevvie (coach Kevin Walters) in game planning.”
Following Reynolds’ injury, one of the most important choices Walters had to make was who would replace five-eighth Ezra Mam in the halves for Friday night’s away match against Parramatta. Many supporters likely assumed that the adaptable Tristan Sailor, who has demonstrated his ability to make plays at fullback when Walsh was down earlier in the season and has experience playing as a five-eighth, would be selected by the Broncos coach.
