Divas among wide receivers are nothing new to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The organization is accustomed to managing the frustrations that occasionally accompany professional sports after helping to control the ultradiva Antonio Brown.
Wide receivers who are dissatisfied with their current season (2023) are causing problems for the Steelers. George Pickens and Diontae Johnson both appear to believe they are the team’s offensive solution. But rather than doing something to help his team win, Pickens is behaving out, as evidenced by his recent liking of a post regarding his quarterback’s injury. Acting out and catching the ball are two of Brown’s specialties. The rising star has received some advice from him.
In just his second season with the Steelers, Pickens has shown an amazing capacity for spectacular contested catches. His quarterback always seems to reel the ball in as his toes touch the sideline when he throws it over his back shoulder. Pickens feels he hasn’t been receiving the ball enough, though. Naturally, no wide receiver ever thinks they receive enough passes. Every one of these athletes wants the chance to support their team.
Pickens has been open several times during the game and has expressed his frustration at not being targeted. The Steelers have lost two very ugly games in a row to the Arizona Cardinals and the New England Patriots. His frustrations may not always be justified, but the behavior hasn’t.
