Earlier this weekend, the Tennessee Volunteers lost another player on their roster to the NFL Draft. Jeremiah Crawford, an offensive lineman who started 13 of the 29 games he played for the Vols, filed for the draft. Although losing Crawford is a setback to their depth, Tennessee still has a good room on paper going into next season.
Crawford alternated with Gerald Mincey at left tackle in 2022 before switching to right tackle in 2023. In 2022, he made six game starts; the next year, he made seven.
In 2024, the Vols will have a number of important players returning on the offensive end. On the offensive line, the Vols will start Cooper Mays and John Campbell Jr. as starters. Their top reserves will be Dayne Davis, Javontez Spraggins, and Jackson Lampley. The signing of Lance Heard, a highly sought-after transfer from LSU, significantly improved their line.

In the first half, the Vols moved out to an early 16–5 lead at the 16-minute mark. With just over 11 minutes left, the Wildcats rallied to cut the deficit to 23-20, but that was the closest the game got in the first half. The Vols ended the half ahead 46-42.
