Goodnews: Five Reasons Jim Harbaugh rejects new deal offers

The Chargers are the latest team to fire their head coach during the season, following the Raiders and Panthers. That puts them on the list of teams searching for a replacement either in advance of or during a hiring cycle that is likely to attract some high-profile players.

Jim Harbaugh might be one of those. Since taking over at Michigan in 2015, the former 49ers bench boss has not been in the National Football League. There may be a new agreement in the works with the Wolverines, which would put an end to the most recent rumor suggesting an NFL comeback.

However, as Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post points out, many in the league are still persuaded that Harbaugh has his sights set on the professional ranks.

Jim Harbaugh is one possible candidate. After taking over at Michigan in 2015, the former bench boss of the 49ers has not been in the NFL. The recent wave of rumors suggesting an NFL comeback might come to a rest if a new contract with the Wolverines is reached. Still, according to Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post, many in the league believe Harbaugh has his sights set on the professional ranks.

Regarding that, Harbaugh will hold off until after the forthcoming College Football Playoffs are over, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. The Wolverines, who are ranked #1 in the nation, are quite likely to win a national championship for the first time under head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh may decide to take up his unfinished business by playing football again. In his four years in San Francisco, he failed to win a Lombardi Trophy despite leading the 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2012.
