good news:The National Spotlight game this week is Alabama vs. Tennessee at #5…….
The No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers will be facing the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide, who according to KenPom have the best offence in the country in terms of adjusted offensive efficiency, when they visit Knoxville.
The two longtime SEC rivals should provide fans with a high-scoring matchup, with the Crimson Tide leading the conference with 90 points per game. Mark Sears, the leading scorer in the conference with 19 points a game, will spearhead the offensive charge for the Crimson Tide. On the other hand, Tennessee has had a historic performance in the last two games from their guard, Dalton Knecht. Knecht became the first Volunteer to have back-to-back games with at least 35 points since 1990 and has brought his season average up to 18 points per game.
Not only are the Crimson Tide a multifaceted squad, but Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes stated, “Coach Nate Oats has the team playing better and more efficiently every week on defence.” Following their shock loss to Mississippi State last week in their conference, the Volunteers are hoping to build on their two-game winning run. ESPN2 will broadcast the game on Saturday, January 20, at 1:00 p.m.
