The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder from Tampa, Florida has already visited Michigan on multiple occasions in his young recruitment – it certainly helps that his mother is a U-M graduate and they still have connections in the state of Michigan. His most recent visit to Ann Arbour was for Michigan’s huge win against Ohio State in November.
“Michigan was a nice environment,” Pickett’s father, Damien, told 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong after The Game. “Electric.” What attracts our attention is that they have a plan for my youngster. I believe I’ve met the entire staff before, including the recruiting coordinators. “It truly felt like home.”
Andrew Ivins of 247Sports scouted Pickett last fall and wrote about him.
Pickett was labelled as a two-way player by Ivins, and Michigan feels the same way. “The fact that they talked about him playing both sides of the ball is appealing,” Damien Pickett told Wiltfong. But I really like how they use a lot of man coverage on the perimeter. And Coach (Steve) Clinckscale is really straightforward and down-to-earth.”
Pickett’s recruitment isn’t going away anytime soon, as he’s previously mentioned that he wants to take official trips and make a decision in the summer. This one may go either way for any of these five institutions, but it’s apparent that Michigan now has one of the top slots. Let’s hope that continues.
Pickett is ranked No. 7 overall, No. 3 cornerback, and No. 1 player in the state of Florida in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports composite.
