To support games and broadcasts, Major League Baseball (MLB) will make use of the Zoom Contact Centre.
By doing this, it will facilitate communication between Zoom Events and Zoom’s collaboration platform and umpires, league officials, and staff.
Fans will also benefit from increased transparency thanks to these innovations.
As part of the new partnership, Zoom will become the “Official Unified Communications Platform of Major League Baseball,” a “first-of-its-kind” partnership.
“We are always looking for innovative ways to leverage best-in-class technology to advance the MLB experience and deliver more to our fans,” stated Chris Marinak, Chief Operations & Strategy Officer of MLB.
The “Crew Chief,” who is in charge of the four-person umpire crew, will use the Zoom Contact Centre to link to Zoom’s Replay Operations Centre for all replay reviews starting with the 2023 season.
Also, during replay reviews on MLB Network and Apple TV+, fans will be able to utilise the Replay Operations Centre in real time. They will have access to knowledgeable analysts as a result, and broadcasters will benefit from their insights.
MLB hopes to boost openness and participation in the review process by implementing this feature.
MLB conducted nearly 1,400 replay reviews in the 2022 season, but viewers were left in the dark by the audio-only equipment used.
One of the most important events in MLB, the 2023 MLB Draft, will use Zoom’s collaboration platform to transmit critical information on Day One. Many MLB teams, platforms, and broadcasters will also make use of the platform.
In addition to Zoom Meetings, several MLB teams use Zoom Phone to communicate with clients and associates. Teams are also choosing the Zoom Contact Centre because it offers supporters accurate, timely, and customised responses.
Zoom Phone, Zoom Meetings, and Zoom Rooms are utilised by MLB corporate offices to facilitate communication and teamwork.
Zoom’s Chief Marketing Officer, Janine Pelosi, said: “Every season, baseball unites tens of millions of ardent fans.”
“By utilising Zoom Contact Centre and Zoom’s comprehensive collaboration platform, MLB is able to genuinely demonstrate to the world how a legacy brand can stay innovative and open up new opportunities.”
Zoom secured its largest-ever contact centre deal last month, with a 2,000-seat agreement for its Contact Centre.
The founder and CEO of Zoom, Eric Yuan, highlighted the solution’s “features, functionality, and integrations” during a conference call, but he declined to disclose the client’s identity.
Even though Zoom’s consumer business is declining, these acquisitions help the company’s enterprise expansion, which is driving higher revenue.
