The well-liked centre announced his retirement after 13 seasons, all of which he played for the Philadelphia Eagles. This decision started the countdown to being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

That Monday, four days into March, four years into the 2020s, thirty-six years old, and following thirteen NFL seasons—all with the Philadelphia Eagles—was the day.

Now, time is running out for what comes next. Although Kelce expressed uncertainty about his immediate future, one thing is certain: he will be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2029.

 

He read from a prepared speech that he had pulled from his phone during his 42-minute speech. However, the speech was shortened by numerous emotional outbursts that began as soon as he sat down at a table in the team’s training facility.

What drew everyone to South Philly on Monday was no mystery. Upon the auditorium’s doors opening, 29 seats bore signs designating them as reserved for the people who had supported him the most in his life: his brother, Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, and his wife Kylie.
