Four Motives for Jerry Jones to Select Mike Zimmer to Lead the Defense

After losing Dan Quinn, the Dallas Cowboys require a defensive coordinator. And when they sort through their prospects, the majority of whom fit a “type,” it’s clear that Mike Zimmer makes a compelling case for “going back to the future.”

The four points of the argument are presented by the Fish Podcast and the Fish Report, and they essentially rest on something like this.

1. Dallas is looking for a coordinator with experience, possibly even head coaching experience, similar to Quinn before him.

2-Since his NFL debut in 1994, Zimmer has shared a special relationship and level of trust with the Jones family.

3. He has easily prevailed. He was a member of the Dallas team that won the Super Bowl in Dallas in 1995. holds a 74-59-1 record in his role as head coach in Minnesota.

More specifically, though, Zimmer has outperformed Quinn in the fight against the “Kyle Shanahan Tree of Coaches.”

4. Have faith. It is crucial to understand Jones and the Cowboys’ ownership. Additionally, Zimmer has some knowledge with the football world having worked for Barry Switzer, Deion Sanders, Bill Parcells, and others.

If Zimmer aids Jones and McCarthy in their 2024 victory over the 49ers? This is the much-discussed “home-run hire.”

McCarthy was able to gain Quinn’s trust. With Zimmer, who has no illusions about this situation, he would find it once more. He hasn’t played in the NFL since2021, so he won’t be returning for the glamour. He was going to return for the kill.

Zimmer is a man of loyalty. … and we go into great detail about it in the Fish Report and Fish Podcast here. He would be here to help.
