DALLAS (AP) — Wednesday night’s heated Dallas-Phoenix game involving Mavericks star Luka Doncic extended beyond the floor.

When a Suns fan yelled that Doncic was exhausted and needed to go on a treadmill during the third quarter, the four-time All-Star was the one who got the person tossed.

After outscoring the Mavericks 43–20 in the third quarter, Phoenix defeated Dallas 132–109.

Early in the 2021–22 season, retired Hall of Fame guard Reggie Miller, a TV analyst, made news by remarking that Doncic appeared overweight during a Mavericks game telecast.

Why did Luka Doncic request that a Suns game fan be ejected by Dallas security?

Doncic objected to media claiming that the treadmill comment was the reason for the dismissal.

“So that one instance, when he said something, was the only one?” Doncic stated during a heated discussion with a reporter.

Yes, I did hear the entirety of the first part, correct? Doncic made reference to a post that was made on X, a platform that was formerly known as Twitter, during the game. “You put out something that was just the only thing,” Doncic stated.

Doncic claimed he didn’t request the fan’s ejection during the first half because he didn’t believe it would occur given that admission is by payment.

Doncic remarked, “He was cursing me the entire first half, too.” But I was done with him. There was a hint of irritation.

Although Kidd has been vocal the past two games about his players losing focus over things like calls by the officials, he was unaware of the sequence that resulted in the fan’s dismissal.

Kidd made no mention of Doncic when Boston defeated them 119-110 two nights prior. He was questioned about Doncic in particular, though, following the Suns’ defeat, in which the Slovenian player was given a technical foul following the buzzer in the first half. Against the Celtics, Doncic also received a technical foul. The Mavs suffered their fourth straight loss against the Suns while Doncic was missing his All-Star partner Kyrie Irving.
