Antonio Pierce, the interim head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, is still in the running for the head coaching position permanently, and he’s even enlisting the help of some very seasoned individuals to help him land the job, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

Aside from former Dolphins and Jets coach Adam Gase, veteran Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has also been asked to advise Pierce.

Despite his lack of experience, Pierce is expected to be a candidate for the Raiders’ full head coaching search, which Raiders owner Mark Davis is still planning for the end of the season.

Pierce also appears to have the support of a number of players, and the team’s victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday, 63-21, probably does not hurt either. The Raiders have gone 3-3 since Pierce took over as interim coach after Josh McDaniels was fired on October 31.
