Greetings and welcome to SB Nation Reacts, an NCAA fan survey. We pose questions to the nation’s most engaged Michigan Wolverines supporters as well as fans across throughout the year. To take part in the weekly email surveys, register here.
The Michigan Wolverines are the best team in the country, but they will need to replace important players who are leaving for the NFL if they want to be the best team in 2024. Cornelius Johnson and Roman Wilson, the top two wide receivers from Michigan, will both be selecting in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Fans of Michigan were asked what positions the team should target in the transfer portal in this week’s SB Nation Reacts.
Michigan should seek a receiver, according to 48% of supporters, a cornerback, 29%, and a quarterback, 16% of respondents.
Two transfer receivers that Michigan is keeping an eye on are Donovan McCulley of Indiana and Jahmal Banks of Wake Forest. McCulley was offered by Michigan, and Banks is scheduled to visit Michigan in January. This season, 6-foot-5 McCulley recorded 48 receptions for 644 yards and six touchdowns. Banks scored four touchdowns and 653 receiving yards on 59 catches.
With former USC wide receiver Domani Jackson, 247Sports believes that Michigan and Alabama are “worth keeping an eye on” when it comes to cornerbacks. According to JPGCFB, the Wolverines have also spoken with Mumu Bin-Wahad, a former UConn CB.
Former UCLA quarterback Dante Moore was contacted by Michigan, but he has now committed to Oregon. J.J. McCarthy, the starting quarterback at Michigan, is expected to stay for his senior season, or he may choose to enter the NFL Draft. Under Jim Harbaugh, Michigan has always added a new quarterback.
In addition, Michigan supporters were questioned about which they believed was more crucial for the Wolverines—high school recruitment or the transfer site.
