In light of this, let’s go back to our exclusive interview with Rodney Peete, a former player for the Detroit Lions and USC Trojans, who provided colour commentary for Kitten Bowl V along with three other celebrities.


We are republishing this item from February of 2018.Since Holly Robinson Peete, an actress, is from Philadelphia and her husband, the co-host of AM 570 Los Angeles, M–F noon–2, used to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, the Peetes will be rooting for the team in Super Bowl 52.

Before the Kitten Bowl, Rodney Peete was kind enough to give us an exclusive interview. We also discussed his new reality show that will debut on Hallmark Channel, his ties to the Chicago Bears, his rivalries with the Michigan State Spartans and UCLA Bruins from his USC days, and a lot more.Continuing with the feline brand here, Peete began and played the majority of his career with the Detroit Lions before finishing with the Carolina Panthers. According to Rodney Peete, his most well-known identity is as a Lions player.

“My first five years in the league were in Detroit, so I spent the most time there,” he remarked.

I was drafted by them as a team. The first thing that always comes up when I’m out in a crowd and people start to recognise me or whatever, is that more people associate me with being a Detroit Lion. That’s definitely where I’m most loyal since they took a chance on me.Boomer Esiason, a legend of the Cincinnati Bengals (yes, a team with a large cat as its mascot) will call the plays during Kitten Bowl V. Throughout the show, Peete will be joined by Alison Sweeney and Dean Cain of Hallmark Channel to offer colour commentary.

Howard Stern’s wife and model Beth Stern will host Kitten Bowl V. All of this, of course, is done for a very good purpose. Over 13,000 animals have been adopted as a result of Kitten Bowl (“game preview” at this link), which has been running for four years. The newborn cats in the game have a 100% adoption rate and come with trading cards of their own.

“The North Shore Animal LeagAmong the amazing athletes are J.J. Swat, Mew Brees, Rob Gronkcatski, and Tomcat Brady. Joe Montuna will even be making a special appearance, according to Peete.

The Hallmark Channel will debut his brand-new reality series, “Meet the Peetes,” on February 8th at 10 p.m. His wife, who has a long list of TV credits, is the main character.ue is excellent at locating these kittens and assisting them in locating a home,” Peete said. “It has been a pleasure working with them.”
Peete replies, “Age 40 and above, it’s ’21 Jumps Street’ all the way,” when he sees his wife. “Hanging with Mr. Cooper and a few other things is what it’s about for the younger generation.”

The four children of the Peeters, who have been married for 22 years, range in age from 12 to 20. At the age of three, Rodney Jr., one of their kids, received an autism diagnosis.

Right now, he’s employed by the Dodgers.

Peete is also the only quarterback in USC history to be named the top senior signal caller in the country, the Johnny Unitas award. In the Heisman Trophy voting that same season, he lost to future Lions backfield partner Barry Sanders.

In addition, he is the son of Willie Peete, who served as an assistant coach for Rodney’s tenure with the Lions as well as the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers.
