According to the 247Sports player transfer rankings, 19 of the country’s top 25 transfers have committed coming out of college football’s Christmas break on the transfer site. The top 10 players are down to three quarterbacks, two wide receivers, and a few defenders heading into the new year. The guys that went down the list were top-ranked player Walter Nolen from Texas A&M and exceptional cornerback Nyland Green from Georgia last week.
A new NCAA memo states that multi-time transfers can start playing right away in the fall of 2024, suggesting that there may be another wave of transfers. Transfers can continue visiting other programmes on January 3. After their last game, players that participate in postseason competitions will have an extra five days to transfer.
This transfer cycle, Ole Miss is now the top portal class, followed by Colorado and Louisville. With Nolen’s choice, Ole Miss secured the top defensive tackle and the two edge rushers in Tyler Baron (Tennessee) and Princely Umanmielen (Florida).
The closeness between Jamaree Caldwell and his position coach, Brian Early, has been documented by Horns247. The two are tight, and Horns247 has heard from many sources that if Early is kept by Wille Fritz’s new Houston staff, Caldwell will probably stay put and return to Houston the following season. After a stellar season with the Cougars, Caldwell entered the portal and immediately caught the interest of Texas, Florida State, and other schools.
During his three years in Los Angeles, Korey Foreman, a former five-star prospect for the Trojans, recorded 25 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 355 defensive snaps, according to USCFootball.com. His greatest moment was in 2022 when he successfully intercepted UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the closing seconds to give the Bruins a 48-45 victory. Foreman, the seventh most talented option at the position, is the most recent pass rusher to declare his availability in this transfer cycle, which is rich on edge talent.
