Dylan Cole finally pathed ways with the Bears making him the first player to….

In the second quarter, Texans linebacker Dylan Cole was carried off due to a hamstring injury.

Kevin Hogan was intercepted by Cole, who landed awkwardly on a tackle by wide receiver Rashard Higgins on a 3-yard return. Without delay, he grasped the rear of his leg.

The Texans have him listed as unlikely to play again.

Cole was replaced by rookie Zach Cunningham, who before leaving recorded an interception, a tackle for loss, a pass breakup, and a special teams tackle.

With J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus out of the lineup last week, the Texans are struggling defensively. Brian Cushing, a linebacker, is sidelined due to suspension.

Cole was added to the Tennessee Titans practice squad on October 13, 2021. On October 26, he was freed, and on November 6, he signed again. In preparation for the Titans’ Week 10 game against the New Orleans Saints, Cole was added to the active roster. Cole fumbled the kickoff to start the second half, allowing the Titans to recover the ball. On November 16, he was added to the active roster.

On May 12, 2017, Cole signed a contract as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans. In a 57–14 victory over the Tennessee Titans at home on October 1, 2017, Cole picked up his first NFL interception and returned it for a score. He also recorded the first sack of his career. In the game against the Cleveland Browns on October 15, 2017, Cole made his second interception of the season. But in making the interception, he strained his hamstring and needed to be helped off the field.
Following his participation in Week 3 against the New York Giants despite a dislocated wrist, Cole was placed on injured reserve on September 25, 2018. On November 27, 2018, he was taken off injured reserve.

After sustaining an ACL tear in Week 12, Cole was placed on injured reserve on November 23, 2019.

Cole re-signed on April 6, 2020, for a $2.133 million, one-year contract. He was added to the active/physically unable of performing list on July 31, 2020, the first day of training camp. On August 16, he was added back to the active roster. The squad put him on the COVID-19 reserve list on November 5 and activated him five days later. Due to a back ailment, he was placed on injured reserve November 14, 2020.
