New Year’s Day 2025 quarterback dominoes keep falling. Because elite quarterbacks have the ability to sway the decisions of other prospects, most elite high school gunslingers decide to complete their recruitments as soon as possible. George MacIntyre, a quarterback from Brentwood Academy, is ranked second in the cycle and the best uncommitted player in the class.

But before shortly, MacIntyre will be off the board. Last week, he updated his timeline with On3’s Chad Simmons, listing Tennessee, Alabama, and LSU as his top three college choices. Alabama and Tennessee are MacIntyre’s top teams, according to 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong, after five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood decided to attend LSU. The Vols are gaining momentum in this one, and you can read Wiltfong’s complete update on the situation here, along with details on other top 2025 quarterbacks.

“After speaking with a number of sources, the information suggests that Tennessee is in the greatest position to get a verbal commitment from MacIntyre, who is unquestionably in decision mode and might make one very soon. Having said that, the majority of those same sites highlight MacIntyre’s affection for Nick Saban and the fact that the Crimson Tide is still relevant today.

MacIntyre finds it really exciting that Josh Heupel has completely redesigned the Vols programme, the offence, the enthusiasm of the supporters, and the chance to succeed Nico Iamaleava, who recently concluded the first of what is unquestionably a three-year plan in Knoxville. In this recruitment, the in-state draw is unquestionably real.”

In any recruiting class, the Crimson Tide is unavoidable, particularly when it comes to elite quarterbacks. In the run-up to MacIntyre’s announcement, Alabama will continue to swing, and the ride should be exciting. Importantly, Wiltfong mentioned that MacIntyre and Alabama head coach Nick Saban have a close relationship.

“MacIntyre speaks with Saban the most out of all of his finalists as head coach. He likes all that the programme stands for, and his earlier trips to Tuscaloosa have been special. Tennessee is getting a lot of attention, but we’ll see if Alabama can win this one.”

The Sheriff Youth Club, which fields several youth teams for games, is the primary user of the impacted land.

Another ground they use, on the Alfie Byrne Road, is also unusable due to last year’s Clontarf Half Marathon, which has made the issue worse.
