Done Deal: Kyle Shanahan signed a new contract with interesting caveat

Due to defensive lineman Kalia Davis of the San Francisco 49ers’ ankle injury on Sunday, Ndamukong Suh, a free agent, may join the team.

It was acknowledged by Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan when he declared that Davis “is going to be out for a few weeks” because of a sprained high ankle. Before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles and winning his third Super Bowl, Suh expressed interest in the 49ers in the previous season.

“Not just yet. On Monday, Shanahan told reporters, “I’m not ruling anything out.” As you can see, we used several of the men on our practice squad last week. However, regarding that stuff, we’re also not entirely sure when [Arik] Armstead and [Javon] Hargrave will return.

Both Armstead (foot) and Hargrave (hamstring) are still doubtful after missing the 45-29 rout of the Arizona Cardinals. Even though Davis is not a starter, his absence simply makes the 49ers’ defensive line’s job more difficult.

Regarding Hargrave and Armstead, Shanahan remarked, “We do know they have chances this week.” We’ll be talking about a number of these interrelated variables here for the remainder of the day and tomorrow. That will likely continue all year long even if we take no action in any area.

Kevin Givens and Javon Kinlaw, the reserve defensive tackles for the Niners, had some encouraging performances against the Cardinals. Givens finished with four tackles, while Kinlaw recorded a tackle and a sack.
