Detroit Tigers Vs Toronto Blue Jays Game Scheduled For 23 May Is Postponed Due To The Detroit Tigers, who were just swept by the Kansas City Royals, are set to begin a four-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Tigers, who were picked to win the American League Central this season, haven’t had the ideal start to the season as they are currently 9.5 games behind in fourth place in the division going into play today. He appeared in 67 games, finishing 7–5, with a 3.68 ERA, 4.36 FIP, 1.33 WHIP, and 79 strikeouts in 66 innings. In 2023, he was the Tigers closer, with 26 saves. He was in a competition to be the closer heading into 2024; he lost that contest but yet recorded two saves. He has made 21 appearances, going 0–3 with a 4.34 ERA.

In December of 2022, the Tigers claimed Englert off waivers from the Rangers. He made 31 appearances in the previous season, one of which was as a starter. He was 4-3 with a 5.46 ERA, 5.59 FIP, 1.50 WHIP, and 41 strikeouts in 56 innings. He began 2024 at Triple-A Toledo, where he appeared in 17 games and finished 3-0 while striking out 34 batters in 23 innings and sporting a 2.35 ERA and 1.08 WHIP.
