Dak Prescott Files Divorce Against Wife To Dissolve 3 Marriage Years For Allegedly Involving In Expect both sides to move on unless the Cowboys make a long playoff run and provide Prescott a new contract in the offseason.

After Jared Goff reset the market on Monday, don’t count on the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott to come to a contract deal.

After Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals ($55M AAV), Goff is now the second-highest paid quarterback in the NFL after signing a four-year, $212 million contract with $170 million guaranteed by the Detroit Lions.

Prescott is about to enter the last year of a $160 million, four-year contract. He recently stated to the media that he doesn’t “necessarily” want to earn the highest salary in the league, but it’s likely that he does. Last season, Prescott played in 17 games, led the league in throwing touchdowns (36), and came in second in the MVP vote to quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.

Prescott still has more negotiating power, even though the Cowboys might use his 2-5 postseason record against him in the contract talks. Because of the no-tag and no-trade clause in his contract, he will be an unrestricted free agent in 2025. The three-time Pro Bowler would be of interest to several teams in need of a quarterback.

Extending Prescott, 30, would cut his 2024 cap hit ($55.455M), giving the Cowboys additional cap room. They might use this to offer wide receiver CeeDee Lamb — entering the final year of his rookie contract — an extension.

Unlike Detroit, Dallas has procrastinated this offseason, meaning it may not strike a deal with either star.

“[The Cowboys are] in the same spot Detroit was with Goff, [wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown], and [offensive tackle Penei] Sewell,” a representative informed Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports. “Dallas is just watching the prices rise; Detroit did the work and got things going. They’re behind schedule by a full year on a few deals.”
