For the past few years, the Las Vegas Raiders have relied heavily on their rushing attack to drive their offence. Josh Jacobs, a running back, led the NFL in rushing yards the previous season and was in the top half of the league before suffering an injury late in the game.
The Raiders have to decide whether Antonio Pierce will be their permanent head coach before deciding what will happen to Jacobs as they start to look to the future.

In Jacobs’ absence, Johnson created space for Zamir White and was a great asset to the Raiders’ special teams.
With so many talented running backs in Las Vegas, Johnson doesn’t need to see a lot of carries, therefore it is impossible to gauge his output by the number of yards he rushes for.
To begin with, Johnson’s playbook contained a lot of hurried plays.
But because of the nature of his work, Johnson’s performance goes unnoticed, much like that of an offensive lineman. Johnson played his first three seasons in the National Football League with the New England Patriots before joining the Raiders two seasons ago.
If Johnson returns to the Raiders for the upcoming season, he may be a very useful asset. If not, Johnson’s skills will be in high demand this offseason from a number of parties.
Even while his strengths may not be particularly thrilling to observe, Johnson is definitely good at creating openings and giving the quarterback additional protection when needed for pass protection.
These factors, along with the fact that he was inexpensive—the Raiders only had to pay him slightly over $1 million—make him a valuable addition to Las Vegas’ roster for the upcoming campaign.
