That both of the AFC North teams have experienced Super Bowl triumph adds to the allure of this rivalry. The Ravens have won two Super Bowl championships, compared to the Steelers’ remarkable six. The fact that both teams have remarkably added two more Super Bowl triumphs apiece since their fierce rivalry started highlights their championship heritage. The two AFC North teams with Super Bowl victories are the only ones.

The Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward was the victim of an alleged “bounty” hit to the head by Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, which remains one of the most memorable incidents in this intense rivalry. It’s important to note that Suggs later stated that his comments were meant to be humorous and had no ill intent. After a comprehensive investigation, the NFL found no evidence of wrongdoing and cleared Suggs. However, this episode will live on in the annals of this rivalry’s history.
