The Tennessee coaching staff has prioritised in-state 2025 wide receiver Joakim Dodson early on. On June 4, 2022, he attended a Tennessee camp for the first time. After that, he made an unauthorised visit to attend the Alabama game in 2022. The Vols made him an offer later in January 2023. Following that, he went to camp, a junior day, and another unofficial visit for the Texas A&M game. Dodson just spoke with me about his recruitment. He is ranked No. 533 in the 2025 class by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

He said, “It hasn’t gotten too hectic yet; it’s been smooth so far,” in response to a question about his hiring procedure. So far in the process, I’ve received regular updates from Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Tennessee, and Missouri.” Dodson has previously mentioned how Tennessee made him feel important. Yes, it’s true that I feel important. I speak with a member of the staff nearly every day, and I get along well with everyone. During the December contact time, Coach Heupel visited my school and told me that they wanted me to go to Rocky Top “Dodson says.

He continues by mentioning the other universities that are putting him first, adding, “Yeah, I hear from Missouri and Cincinnati quite a bit, and they’re always staying in touch with me. I get along well with every member of the Missouri staff, and I was made to feel important during my visit there in early October. Coach Drink also visited my school in December during the contact period.

Regarding Cincinnati, since Coach Glenn is the offensive coordinator and we are a first-year staff, I want to continue building that relationship. Additionally, I’ve been in contact with Mississippi State’s new staff, and I’m fairly certain that I’ll be visiting for a junior day in January.”

He was asked if he intended to visit a Tennessee junior day since he brought up junior days. All the wideout could say was “Yes.” February third. The in-state candidate then discusses the future and whether closing schools is likely in the near future. The wide receiver from Collierville next said, “Yeah, I want to take as much time as possible, so I won’t be cutting down my list any time soon because I think it could be some new schools that get in the mix in the January contact period.”
