CONGRATULATIONS: Chicago Cubs signed two major players to Minor deals

The Cubs have signed C. Jorge Alfaro, Joe Hudson, and LHP Thomas Pannone have been signed to Minor League contracts with invites to attend MLB games. Spring Practice
Between Alfaro and Hudson, who have both played in the Major Leagues, Chicago got some seasoned catching depth. Alfaro, 30, has hit.253 with the Phillies, Marlins, Padres, Rockies, and Red Sox in parts of eight seasons. Hudson, 32, spent the majority of the season at Triple-A Gwinnett (Braves), but he also played with the Angels (’18), Cardinals (’19), and Mariners (’20).

Pannone, 29, has pitched in portions of three Major League seasons for the Blue Jays and Brewers, totalling 50 games (13 starts) with a 5.46 ERA. After starting the season with the Milwaukee Brewers, the southpaw spent the majority of the year with the Kia Tigers in Korea. In the KBO, he had a 4.26 ERA, 66 strikeouts, and 23 walks in 82 1/3 innings (15 starts and one relief appearance).
