Coach of the Year for the Detroit Lions in 2023………..

We’re halfway through our 2023 Detroit Lions Pride of Detroit awards, and we’ve arrived to one of the more significant ones: Coach of the Year. While offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and head coach Dan Campbell both performed admirably in 2023, they were both almost missed at the NFL Honours this year. However, Detroit’s talented coaching staff is much more than just those two. Defence coordinator Aaron Glenn is regarded by his players as the most respected coordinator in football, offensive line coach Hank Fraley is as reliable as they come, and a number of other coaches are deserving of praise as well.

Who, though, will win the Detroit Lions Coach of the Year POD Award? These are the nominees suggested by our staff; the winner will be decided by your vote in the poll at the conclusion.

The Lions won their first NFC North championship and their first postseason victory in decades, making history. I’m not sure what else the head coach has on his or her resume if that. Without Dan Campbell, the Lions would not be in the running for the NFC Championship. He is the team’s soulmate. Is there really a need to explain this? When Campbell was originally hired, he found himself in one of the worst situations possible, but he had a clear plan and goal for this squad. This season, it appears like everything Campbell advocated and assured us of has come to pass, and he has also become a more skilled tactician and game manager. While much of the credit for this team’s success should go to his staff and higher management, he guided them to their first division title and postseason victories in decades. For the work he’s done in such a short period of time, I still believe Dan Campbell deserves to be commended and given credit first.

Why? Easy, he was the leader of this team, the coaching staff, and the organization. He helped build the culture that these players believe in, and they love him as much as he loves them. If Campbell wasn’t on this staff, I am not sure this team would be the same, while if other coaches left, they would survive and adjust.Other highly deserving coaches will undoubtedly be nominated by the rest of the staff, and that’s okay. The list includes Ben Johnson, Aaron Glenn, Hank Fraley, and Kelvin Sheppard. However, Campbell is the leader of the group and deserves most of the credit for infusing the organisation with a level of legitimacy and energy that I have never seen in my life. His way of thinking, his candour, his honesty, and his mentality have all served to bring us fans closer to this team and, evidently, to maximise the performance of his players. It’s always been Dan Campbell—12 victories, an NFC North championship, a trip to the NFC Championship Game.

Although there are many deserving coordinators and assistant coaches for the Lions, Campbell is the leader of this exquisite orchestra. His leadership and motivational skills are unmatched, and he consistently finds methods to position his coaches and players for success. The real deal, this is Campbell.

I will continue to pound the table for Kelvin Sheppard as I have done all year. Lockdown linebackers Alex Anzalone and Jalen Reeves-Maybin both experienced career comebacks. The Lions didn’t miss a beat when Malcolm Rodriguez had to step in during the playoffs. Sheppard is working wonders over there and, ideally, will make a fantastic DC in Detroit. Though it seems wrong that no one put Ben Johnson forward, Dan Campbell is one of the most impressive leaders I have ever seen, regardless of industry. Give it to Frank Ragnow, please:
