When Blake Corum hosted a toy drive earlier this month at Somerset Collection, the mall’s turnout considerably exceeded everyone’s expectations. The Michigan football captain spent the majority of the day swapping selfies for gifts that he pledged to distribute throughout the region.
Corum made some of the donations in person on Friday, when he brought a truckload of toys to Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbour.
“A very merry visit for Little Victors from Blake Corum,” the hospital wrote on Facebook. “Blake surprised some of our patients with a surprise visit and a HUGE truck full of toys.” THANK YOU, Blake, for taking the time this holiday season to share joy. “Hail and Blue.”
Corum, who will return to Michigan for his senior year in 2023, has given back to the local community on numerous occasions and has been vocal about his goal to leave a positive legacy both on and off the football field.
“I look back on the last four years and hope I left a legacy.” I left my imprint here. “I made a difference on and off the field,” Corum said after helping Michigan defeat Ohio State in November.
