The San Francisco 49ers’ main worry as we approach the NFC Championship is if wide receiver Deebo Samuel can play despite a shoulder issue.
Some others believe Samuel should avoid risking any more injuries and instead recover for the Super Bowl. But players don’t think like that; fans do. This is the NFC Championship matchup with a strong foe. There’s no assurance that the Niners win. In this scenario, all hands should be on deck as you place your chips in the middle.
There is depth at the position for the 49ers. In Deebo’s absence, Jauan Jennings excelled. In the fourth quarter, Chris Conley had one of the game’s largest receptions. Ray-Ray McCloud is quick enough to make a huge play. They aren’t Deebo, though. No one is.
The 49ers need to keep a closer eye on Deebo’s injury than before. He is a player who will inherently be involved in significant collisions. Since Samuel resides over the middle of the field, heavy hits are certain. And that’s before accounting for the situation in which he lines up as a running back in the backfield. The Niners have to pull him if they see any indication that he is having trouble.
When Samuel or anybody else falters, Aiyuk stated that it will be a team effort and that everyone must step up their game. I hope we don’t have to find out about it.
