Breaking:NewsBears’ Trade Offer to the Desperate AFC Team Acquires Draft Picks and Team All-Pro DB……

Several NFL insiders claim that the Denver Broncos and head coach Sean Payton are thinking about trying to trade for the first overall pick, even if it might be the longest of long shots.

It has been claimed by Tony Pauline of Sportskeedia and Cecil Lammey of DenverSports.com that the Broncos are considering making a quarterback selection later in the draft.

There is a belief by many in the scouting community that Sean Payton has something cooking for the early portion of the #NFLDraft,” Lammey wrote on X, before subsequently posting the following: “The NFL thinks Payton is going to move up, no matter what. Don’t ask about compensation. Some think it won’t matter b/c SP won’t wait on QB. He wants his guy NOW.”

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell also put together a trade proposal he believes could convince the Bears to send the first pick to Denver: Surtain, pick No. 12 in the first round this year and 2025 second- and third-round picks.

The Broncos nearly have to add players to get from No. 12 to No. 1 in the draft since they are already short on draft cash and have several picks this year. Star cornerback Pat Surtain II, who may seem like a luxury on a defence that plays as much zone as the Bears, is the only player who could make a significant difference, according to Barnwell’s February 1 article.

Paying two young corners big salary may not be the greatest option, according to Barnwell, since Johnson is eligible for a new contract after having the best year of his career. Nevertheless, he thinks defensive-minded head coach Matt Eberflus would find this a very alluring alternative.

Picking a top-three cornerback isn’t going to hurt if Eberflus wants to have the finest defence in the NFL, but Chicago might not want to pay two cornerbacks as much as Surtain and Jaylon Johnson will combined to get on their next contracts, Barnwell continued.

There are intriguing reports that the Broncos are eager to advance, and there is a very slim chance that Denver may make a trade deal that Bears general manager Ryan Poles won’t be able to reject.

“Payton is looking for a great passer, like Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, or Caleb Williams. I had lengthy conversations with multiple persons regarding this,” Pauline stated on January 31.

Although it would be extremely expensive and unlikely, I was able to confirm that the Broncos are interested in trading up for their quarterback of the future. Pauline also mentioned that cornerback Patrick Surtain would undoubtedly be included in any major trade of this magnitude. Although the team doesn’t want to trade Surtain, I’ve been informed that they would contemplate switching to the corner as a last resort in order to acquire one of the best passers.
