Breaking News: ONE GUYANA FPSO Expected to Arrive in Guyana by Q2 in 2025 from ExxonMobil Guyana

ExxonMobil Guyana President Alistair Routledge has announced that the highly anticipated ONE GUYANA FloatingExxonMobil Guyana President Alistair Routledge has announced that the highly anticipated ONE GUYANA Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) vessel is scheduled to arrive in Guyana in the second quarter of 2025. Speaking at a November event, Routledge provided an update on the company’s ambitious development plans in the South American country, which has become one of the most significant oil exploration and production hubs in recent years.

The ONE GUYANA FPSO, set to be the largest of its kind in ExxonMobil’s global fleet, will play a critical role in the continued development of the Stabroek Block, which has become a cornerstone of Guyana’s oil industry. With an expected production capacity of 250,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd), the new FPSO will bolster ExxonMobil’s production capabilities as it works to meet the growing demand from international markets.

Routledge highlighted the importance of the project not only for ExxonMobil but also for the people of Guyana, as it aligns with the nation’s efforts to maximize its oil wealth. The FPSO will be stationed offshore, in the deep waters of the Stabroek Block, and is designed to safely process and store the crude oil extracted from subsea reservoirs.

The delivery of the ONE GUYANA FPSO comes as part of ExxonMobil’s broader investment strategy to expand its operations in the region, which has seen major oil discoveries since the first significant find in 2015. The company is rapidly scaling up its production, with a goal of reaching 1 million barrels of oil per day in Guyana by the early 2030s.

In his address, Routledge emphasized the critical role of the FPSO in supporting Guyana’s development goals. “ExxonMobil remains committed to partnering with the people of Guyana and the government to ensure the responsible and sustainable development of our oil resources,” Routledge said. He also noted that the new FPSO would create hundreds of local jobs, enhance technical expertise, and stimulate further economic growth in the country.

The ONE GUYANA FPSO will be integral to ExxonMobil’s Phase 3 development plan for the Stabroek Block. This phase includes the installation of more subsea wells and infrastructure, further expanding the company’s operational footprint in the region. The FPSO will be operated by a consortium of companies, with SBM Offshore providing the design, construction, and operational services for the vessel.

ExxonMobil’s continued success in Guyana is a result of strategic investments, technological innovation, and collaboration with the Guyanese government. In recent years, the country has seen significant revenues from its oil sector, with much of the earnings earmarked for public investment in infrastructure, education, and health. This has contributed to the rapid development of Guyana’s economy, which is projected to be one of the fastest-growing in the world over the next decade.

As the ONE GUYANA FPSO heads toward its 2025 arrival, ExxonMobil’s commitment to Guyana’s energy future remains clear. With further projects in the pipeline, including additional FPSOs and offshore facilities, the company is poised to continue its leadership in the burgeoning oil sector in the region, ensuring a sustainable and profitable future for both ExxonMobil and the people of Guyana.
