The Eagles and Brandon Graham are open to a new contract, and there seems to be optimism that one will be signed shortly.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that there is “mutual interest” in Graham rejoining the Philadelphia 76ers, and that a new deal “may come prior to free agency.”
Early on Monday, there were rumours circulating that Graham and the Eagles had actually reached an agreement on a new contract. Although the reporter expressed some hope that a deal could be finalised sooner rather than later, Rapoport stated it was untrue.
It would be shocking if the two sides couldn’t work things out after 14 seasons together with the Eagles.
Graham signed a one-year, $5 million contract extension with the Eagles last offseason, capping off a three-year, $40 million arrangement that he had with the organisation in 2022.
Graham may have to settle for an even lower total in 2024 after failing to reach anywhere close to those statistics in 2023, when he was coming off an 11-sack performance the previous time around.
After the Eagles’ dismal 2023 campaign finale, there was conjecture that the 35-year-old would consider hanging up his cleats.
