The Chicago Bears are opulent, and this will provide the team with an abundance of wonderful alternatives for the second consecutive summer.

Of course, the team’s biggest asset is the No. 1 overall pick that Chicago obtained in a trade with the Carolina Panthers before to the 2023 NFL Draft. Therefore, the most crucial decision the Bears will have to make come springtime is whether to sell that pick for a king’s ransom in order to acquire a predicted franchise quarterback to replace Justin Fields.

The general consensus in the media is that the Bears need to cut ties with Fields because of the potential of USC quarterback Caleb Williams, who has been compared to stars like Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes, two future Hall of Famers.

Fields might be headed for the trade block following Chicago’s Week 18 finale against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, as the Bears’ general manager Ryan Poles is sure to lose his job if he passes on another CJ Stroud in 2024.

But the Bears acquired the first overall pick in 2024, the team’s best wide receiver in DJ Moore, starting right tackle Darnell Wright in the first round, and two second-round picks (2023, 2025) from Carolina after passing on Stroud in the previous season.

Should the QB-needy team fall in the No. 3 place, the Bears could grab that team’s top-5 selection and use it to draft Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. with a similar trade package for this year’s top pick. In addition, Chicago would almost certainly pick up a first-round pick in 2025, if not two in the future, in addition to a number of other noteworthy assets.
