One of the biggest football sensations in college, Baker Mayfield seems poised to have a significant impact in the NFL.

Though there were moments of brilliance and misfortune, and he wasn’t always positioned for success, it gradually became strangely evident that Mayfield wasn’t the player the squad needed to make a breakthrough.

Then, while he was still a member of the team, the team kind of screwed him over by dealing for Deshaun Watson, which clearly reduced his trade worth even further.

The former No. 1 pick recently opened up about his time in Cleveland, saying in an interview with Nick Wright on FS1’s First Things First that he always knew all he needed was a fresh start somewhere else with a team that actually believed in him. Now, he’s reportedly in line to sign a very lucrative multi-year deal to remain with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
