Atlanta Braves Vs Chicago Cubs Series Scheduled For 21-23 May Is Postponed Due To One of the greatest teams in baseball, the Atlanta Braves have seen some setbacks in the first two months of the season. Their pitching rotation is the main area of concern, as other pitchers have stepped up temporarily to cover for the injured Spencer Strider, but it is difficult to see this level of success continuing. As reported by USA Today, the Braves are already keeping an eye on Zach Eflin of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Every team needs more pitching depth, even though the Atlanta Braves have gotten excellent results from Chris Sale, Max Fried, and Reynaldo Lopez. Players sustain injuries, and there are hot and cold months. This tidbit was tucked in at the conclusion of one of USA Today’s long baseball pieces by Bob Nightengale.
In 2023, Eflin had a career year, placing sixth in the AL Cy Young voting. Not quite as domineering has been his 2024. Though it is the highest it has been since 2021, his ERA right now is 4.12. Due to his difficulties, the Atlanta Braves may be able to sign him for less money and place him on a team with a top-tier offense.
Zach Eflin’s trade seems more likely because the Atlanta Braves want to win now. Elfin, who is thirty years old, does not currently have a long-term contract. Three or four years from now is not important to the Braves. Their goal is to assemble a World Series team and attempt to fill the trophy case with awards. With the Los Angeles Dodgers in the distance, it will be a difficult assignment, but the Braves believe that their outstanding pitching staff can silence any offense.
The trade deadline is still months away, but the rumors have already begun to circulate. After two months of play, we can very well predict what clubs like the Atlanta Braves will need to win it all. Is this club capable of defeating the Dodgers and other National League contenders?
