Atlanta Braves Signee Ronald Acuna Jr. Sustained A Career Ending Injury

There has been chaos, destruction, and panic within the Atlanta Braves organisation. Leading MVP and future legend Ronald Acuna Jr. has sustained an injury that could potentially change the course of the season. We might be overreacting a little, but this is a terrible development. Here is what we know so far.

How the Injury Arose in Acuna

At North Port, Florida’s CoolToday Park on Thursday, the Braves hosted the Minnesota Twins. During Acuna’s third inning at-bat, he scored Will Castro and Eli White with a stunning line shot to centre field, while also sliding into second base. Recognised base stealer Acuna tried to steal third base but was caught attempting to return to second. Not long later, he would be taken out of the lineup.

Acuña took part in the pregame warm-ups and batting practice for the Braves’ Friday game against the Orioles in North Port. Despite being left off the starting lineup, he gave the Braves his word that he was ready to participate in the game.

Later, Acuna Jr. reported that he was experiencing soreness to the Braves personnel. The Braves had Acuña get an MRI on Friday night, and the results were devastating: his surgically repaired right knee has some damage. An MRI of his right knee revealed inflammation in the meniscus.

We even forecast that Acuna will have a stronger year in 2024, helping the Braves surpass their projected 101.5 game total and legitimately contend for a sixth World Series championship. The 26-year-old, who has just entered the peak of his career, may see a drop if this ailment exacerbates the torn ACL he had fixed in 2021.

The Braves’ farm system is weak, and they already lack depth in the outfield. The Braves season would be completely ruined if Scuba was assigned to anything longer than a 15-day assignment to begin the season.
