The Las Vegas Raiders humiliated the Los Angeles Chargers with a 63-21 blitz on Thursday Night Football, making a statement in the process.
The Silver and Black supporters were ecstatic as the Raiders led from start to finish and defeated an AFC West opponent. Los Angeles fired head coach Brandon Staley and general Tom Telesco after the loss was so severe.
Antonio Pierce, meanwhile, made a stronger argument for himself to remain head coach in Las Vegas. Pierce appears to be the front-runner when the offseason starts since he has obviously won over the players and staff.
Over the years, the Chiefs have had the upper hand over the Raiders, and this season, Mark Davis would undoubtedly prefer to defeat yet another divisional opponent. Due to their dearth of receiving options, Kansas City has been exposed this season, thus there’s a potential Las Vegas might pull off an upset.
Although the defense has been the team’s most outstanding aspect since Pierce assumed the position of interim head coach, Aiden O’Connell has been a reliable starter at quarterback. The Raiders have shown they can compete with most teams, despite the difficulty of stopping an Andy Reid offense.
This season, Davante Adams hasn’t held back when venting his frustrations, so it’s safe to assume that he was relieved when the Raiders won and ended their three-game losing run.
