It should come as no surprise that Nick Saban is exerting every effort to ensure Alabama is ready for its forthcoming Rose Bowl game against Michigan.

The top-ranked Wolverines have one of the best defensive teams in the nation going into the game, and Saban is aware that the Crimson Tide will face a formidable challenge in the CFP Semifinal. Saban has brought on George Helow, a former member of Harbaugh’s staff, to aid in his team’s preparation.

Helow was Michigan’s linebackers coach for two years while working under Harbaugh in Ann Arbor (2021–2022).

Helow is anticipated to start working with the Crimson Tide right away, and it’s safe to say that Saban and company will be utilizing his familiarity with the Michigan defense.

It’s important to remember that Helow started his coaching career at Alabama in 2012, working under Nick Saban as a staff assistant to defensive coordinator Kirby Smart.
