It’s becoming a trend for Michigan in this future cycle. The Wolverines are hoping to bring in a tall wide receiver via the transfer portal.
It all started when Michigan made an offer to Indiana wide receiver Donaven McCulley, who eventually returned to the Hoosiers. Wake Forest 6-foot-4 WR Jahmal Banks was just offered by the Wolverines. The Wolverines have now made contact with Tulane transfer Chris Brazzell.
Brazzell is a 6-foot-5, 195-pound receiver from Tulane who committed in the 2022 cycle. He still has three years of eligibility left. Brazzell is from Midland, Texas, where he excelled in high school. He concluded his high school career with 104 receptions, 1,596 yards, and 21 touchdowns.
Brazzell redshirted in 2022 but emerged as Tulane’s best option this season. He has 44 receptions for 711 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Green Wave. Brazzell had a 16.1 yard per catch average.
Michigan will almost definitely lose Cornelius Johnson as well as Roman Wilson. The Wolverines are seeking large-bodied receivers to complement Tyler Morris, Semaj Morgan, and others.
Brazzell is the portal’s 48th-ranked prospect and No. 10 WR, according to 247Sports.
