Michigan Football is now expected to land a four-star prospect in 2024

Early signing day for 2024 recruits is just around the corner. The Wolverines are hoping to not only begin signing commits from the class, but also to lock in players who have not yet committed. It appears that Michigan will receive a fresh commitment in the ’24 cycle fairly shortly.

Following a visit to Ann Arbour, the Wolverines have emerged as the overwhelming favourite to sign District Heights (MD) Bishop McNamara prospect Lugard Edokpayi. Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider on 247Sports made a Crystal Ball prediction for Michigan. The Wolverines were also predicted by Zach Libby and EJ Holland with The Wolverine (On3).

Edokpayi is a four-star recruit and the 305th-ranked prospect in the cycle, according to the Composite rankings. He has enormous size, reaching 6-foot-6 and weighing 230 pounds. The physical specimen is still developing his pass rush moves, but Edokpayi has one of the biggest wing spans in the 2024 class and has the potential to wreak havoc on offensive linemen once he receives college coaching.

Florida State and Maryland have all been mentioned as possible destinations for the edge rusher, but Michigan appears to be the favourite come early signing day. Michigan currently has 26 2024 class commitments. Michigan has three committed edge rushers.
