The Atlanta Braves are letting out a sigh of relief because it appears that one of their struggling sluggers is finding his rhythm again. Notwithstanding a general hitting slump, Ronald Acuna Jr. is having a solid game after hitting his third home run of the year on Friday.
I will not lie—I felt fantastic. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Acuna remarked, “I haven’t felt that way in a long time. “Obviously, helping the team win was the most important and satisfying thing, but it was nice to be able to kind of regain that feeling.”
The Braves’ bottom half of the lineup is still fairly erratic: four different players have hit sixth, seven different players have hit seventh, and seven different players have hit eighth and ninth. The first, third, fourth, and fifth positions in the lineup haven’t changed throughout the season.
This season, d’Arnaud and Orlando Arcia have already made appearances in all four of those locations, and Michael Harris II and Jarred Kelenic have done so in three of the four. However, the Braves have lost their first two games of the Dodgers series with this exact lineup, thus they are winless thus far this season. Hopefully, that changes today. The Braves will start this lineup for the fourteenth time in 36 games.
