With an ankle injury, Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is expected to miss at least two and a half months of action.
The 26-year-old had only recently made a comeback to the field following an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury last season, but he hobbled out of Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Aston Villa following a tackle by Matty Cash that resulted in the defender receiving a yellow card. Spurs are already without eight first-team players due to injuries, with players like James Maddison and Richarlison missing significant time.
However, Bentancur’s absence is especially frustrating because he recently regained his level of fitness and the scan results show he will be sidelined for at least ten weeks.
This weekend, Spurs travel to the Etihad Stadium to play Manchester City, and Ange Postecoglou will be praying for some bodies to return.
