Atlanta Selling his house this winter was not something Brian Snitker had planned on doing, and he was not prepared for the chance he was given when the Braves fired former manager Fredi Gonzalez last week. For the time being, Snitker will just have to settle for the fact that he is probably the only major league manager residing in his daughter’s basement.
“It works out well because my wife babysits the grandkids, so it’s to [my daughter Erin’s] benefit to have us there because she’s a nurse at Piedmont Hospital,” Snitker stated. “Grandma can look after the children while she is at work. We wish to get a little closer because of this so that we can still do, Snitker arrived at Spring Training with the idea that he would handle his managerial responsibilities at Triple-A Gwinnett while hunting for a new place to live. However, following Gonzalez’s resignation, he was assigned the post of Atlanta’s interim manager, and he will now be searching for a new home in Gwinnett County.
Snitker talked excitedly about his nine-month-old twin grandkids during Spring Training. He also emphasised to his wife, after winning his first game as a big league manager last week, how good it was to see them again over FaceTime.

“Having a grandchild is ten times more enjoyable than I ever imagined,” Snitker remarked. “It doesn’t even come close.”
Snitker was pleased to see his nameplate next to the door of his new office when the Braves arrived home from their road trip on Sunday. However, he showed even more pride in being a grandfather when asked if he had taken a photo.
“I don’t even know how to use half the stuff on the phone I’ve got,” remarked Snitker. “It’s filled with pictures of babies,”
