Tennessee Titans Announce Will Levis’ New Five-Year Contract Extension
In a move that solidifies the future of their quarterback position, the Tennessee Titans have announced a new five-year contract extension for second-year quarterback Will Levis. The deal, worth a reported $120 million, reflects the Titans’ commitment to Levis as their long-term starter and underscores their belief in his potential as the leader of their offense moving forward.
Levis, who was drafted by the Titans in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, has shown promising flashes of talent since taking over the starting role in the middle of the 2024 season. His strong arm, mobility, and playmaking ability have caught the attention of both fans and analysts, with many projecting him as one of the next young stars in the league. This contract extension comes just one season after the Titans made the bold decision to move on from long-time starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
“This extension is a reflection of the hard work and dedication Will has shown both on and off the field,” said Titans general manager Ran Carthon in a statement. “We believe in Will’s potential and his ability to take this team to the next level. He has all the tools to succeed and we are excited to continue to build around him as we look to compete for championships.”
Levis’ first season as a starter has been a mixture of highs and lows. While the Titans have struggled with consistency as a team, Levis has shown impressive growth in several key areas. Through his first 12 starts, he has thrown for over 3,000 yards and 22 touchdowns, with several memorable performances that highlighted his ability to make deep throws and lead late-game comebacks. However, his rookie year has not been without its challenges, including some struggles with turnovers and adapting to the speed of the NFL game.
Despite the ups and downs, the Titans remain optimistic about Levis’ development. Head coach Mike Vrabel praised Levis’ leadership and work ethic, noting that the young quarterback has the right mindset to thrive in the NFL.
“Will’s a guy who doesn’t shy away from hard work,” Vrabel said. “He’s shown incredible growth and maturity, and we’re confident that he will continue to develop into one of the top quarterbacks in the league.”
The extension also provides the Titans with salary cap flexibility, allowing them to make additional moves to improve the roster around Levis. With this new deal in place, Tennessee is poised to build a team that can compete for the playoffs and beyond as they enter the next chapter of their franchise quarterback’s career.
