CONGRATULATIONS: The Steelers sign another star tonight

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to bolster their roster in advance of the season’s closing stages.
Jaylon Smith, a free agency linebacker, has reportedly agreed to a deal with the team, according to his agent Doug Hendrickson.

He’s likely to be called up eventually, even if the Steelers want to keep him on the practice squad for the time being. Smith has seven years of experience and has played for the Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Las Vegas Raiders.
He was signed by the Raiders last month from the practice squad of the New Orleans Siants. He played for Antonio Pierce’s squad just once before being released after just three weeks.
Remarkably, only a year prior, he was coming off a strong season with the Giants, where he placed second on the team with 88 total tackles.

During his three years with the Cowboys, Smith averaged just under 140 tackles per season and was even selected to the Pro Bowl in 2019. Smith was a formidable player.

With a ruptured ACL and MCL, the Notre Dame player missed his whole rookie season and was selected with the 34th overall pick.
Even though the Steelers are loaded on defence, you can never have too many playmakers on that side of the ball, especially if you’re Mike Tomlin. The squad is now 8-7 and tied with three other teams for the final wild-card place in the AFC.
